SUMMARY:

The theme of the study covered issues of well-being, mental health and functional readaptation within the SEEDF and aimed to develop a case study, with the main objective: To analyze the perception and training needs of SEEDF managers on well-being, mental health and functional readaptation for an effective reception of readapted teachers. In this scenario, the data obtained from the GDF Transparency Portal demonstrated the relevance of the study by reporting a significant increase in the number of retrained teachers between 2014 and 2018, which represented approximately 10% of the teaching category. Based on this general objective and as part of the specific objectives, the aim was to present a project on wellbeing, emotional health and functional readaptation for SEEDF managers based on their perceptions and training needs. The research was qualitative in nature, using a variety of methods in which the research instruments were: a semi-structured interview, conducted individually with ten (10) managers and a focus group with six (06) managers. The analysis procedure was thematic analysis. The study aimed to contribute to both management and the reception of readapted teachers and their reintegration into the democratic environment of SEEDF schools. The results showed that, despite the notable progress made in SEEDF's Public Policies on Quality of Life at Works, there is a need for greater dissemination of programs, projects and action on well-being and mental health. According to the perspectives of the study participants, well-being and mental health are interlinked with quality of life at work, which is why democratizing the issue and decentralizing training is essential. It was found that the managers have specific gaps in their training, such as: mastery of the legislation for rehired teachers, people management and conflict mediation. Another demand identified was the implementation of service centers in the CREs for well-being, mental health and therapeutic assistance. It should be noted that the discussion on well-being and mental health from the perspective of functional readaptation is wide-ranging and is not exhausted in this study. It is therefore suggested that further research be carried out on the subject so that the knowledge produced can be expanded and disseminated.
