SUMMARY:

This research investigates how the concepts of educational innovation and active methodologies are included in the National Curricular Guidelines for the Undergraduate Course in Pedagogy and whether there are, in the curriculum of the Pedagogy course at UnB, disciplines and/or practices that provide an in-depth understanding of these concepts. The guiding question is: “Does the curriculum of the Pedagogy course at the University of Brasília offer future pedagogues an initial basic training for innovation and the use of active methodologies?”. The general objective is to investigate how the concepts of educational innovation and active methodologies are included in the National Curricular Guidelines for the Undergraduate Course in Pedagogy and whether there are, in the curriculum of the Pedagogy course at UnB, disciplines and/or practices that provide an in-depth understanding of these concepts. With a qualitative approach, based on the Case Study (GIL, 2009) and with a perspective of critical analysis of the social context present in Basic Education, the research procedures include the review of the state of knowledge, the documentary analysis and the application of questionnaires, whose target audience are students of the course enrolled in supervised internship practice disciplines. As a result, it is observed that the DCNs for the Pedagogy course do not contemplate the concepts of educational innovation and active methodologies; that the PPPC of the course as well as the syllabuses of the disciplines that make up the formative dimension present gaps regarding the theoretical-practical training for these actions and, therefore, require critical reflection to reformulate them; that the students' understanding is deeper regarding active methodologies, however, the knowledge about educational innovation needs to be deepened. As a technical product of this work, we propose a workshop with the concepts and examples of educational innovation mediated by active methodologies.
