SUMMARY:

From the perspective of socio-educational practice connected with education, professionalization, and work, this study focuses on recreational activities in the socio-educational environment with the main objective of understanding how the practices implemented at the Female Detention Center in Gama, Federal District, promote reflection on social rights. Knowledge about these rights, even though it is at the core of education, is essential due to the importance that social rights have in the lives of individuals, especially young people who are about to return to society. In terms of the movement of this research and analysis, the investigation is subdivided between field research in the closed female unit and bibliographic research, which covers a period of twelve years, from 2012 to 2024, considering the establishment of SINASE in 2012. The intention outlined here has a theoretical basis in conceptual views on socio-education and on play and its dimensions: playfulness and games. In order to materialize the proposed concepts and provide reflection, action, interaction, leisure, knowledge, and exchange of experiences for affective and social coexistence, this work created a board game and cards entitled “SuperAção: um desafio de outro mundo” (Overcoming: a challenge from another world). The initial aim of this playful resource is for adolescent girls to learn about topics related to professionalization, ethics, culture, fundamental rights, and duties, from the perspective that they are associated with life in society, so that it is possible to understand and resolve situations in the personal, family, and community spheres. The methodological approach taken in this study is qualitative, with bibliographic and documentary research, observation, and field study, using semistructured interviews. The analyses showed that, although still insufficient, the practices implemented in the socio-educational units of the Federal District allow for interaction and the exchange of meaningful experiences. The results of the interviews and questionnaires, after the game was played, indicated proactivity, participation, and interest in learning more about social rights. Thus, the results lead to the understanding that, despite the intrinsic complexity of the Socio-Educational System, it was possible to provide adolescents with access to education and culture, these elements, among others, being essential to understanding the rights and duties necessary for the exercise of citizenship. The board game provided another opportunity to address issues related to education and the professional world in a playful way.
