Introduction: Clinical studies are of great relevance to society and can significantly interfere in relationships and the work process, especially in the health area. They contribute to increasing life expectancy and quality of life, reducing mortality rates, and enabling the prevention, cure, or control of various diseases to become a reality. Brazil is a developing country, is experiencing economic growth in the world ranking, is the fifth largest in terms of territorial extension, and has a wide variety of natural resources. In contrast, in Brazil, innovation in health and research evolves slowly, with research of lower density and technological risk. The National Network for Clinical Research in Teaching Hospitals (RNPC) was created in 2005 with the purpose of achieving an institutional model of clinical research based on best research practices aimed at the needs of the Unified Health System (SUS). However, several gaps were found in this process, requiring reformulation. Therefore, in 2022, the Brazilian Clinical Research Network (RBPClin) was established as an articulation and consultancy body aimed at strengthening clinical research in the country. Objective: To analyze the implementation process of the Brazilian Clinical Research Network (RBPClin) in Brazil. Methodology: This is a case study developed in 3 distinct stages. The first stage will consist of carrying out an analysis of bibliographic production to assess productions focused on the scope of clinical research in Brazil. In the second stage, documentary research will be carried out to construct a timeline of the main publications of formal documents in order to map and understand advances in the context of clinical research in Brazil and the consequent creation of the RBPClin. In the third stage, a qualitative study will be conducted, in which interviews will be conducted with actors identified as relevant to the manifestation of facts and impressions that support the proposed discussions on the topic. Expected results: This study is expected to analyze the process of implementing clinical research in Brazil through the Brazilian Clinical Research Network (RBPClin). Based on the historical context and the analysis of the timeline, it will be possible to understand the path that Brazil is taking to increase the country's capacity to develop and attract clinical research.
