LOW CARBON ACOUSTICS: BAMBOO AGGLOMERATED PANELS.
Bamboo Chipboard Panel; Acoustic Absorption; Cement Panel.
This thesis project is dedicated to investigating the feasibility of developing a new composite that will result in a bamboo agglomerated panel from a low-density species with no structural applicability. This is an experimental study aimed at investigating the physical, mechanical and acoustic properties of mediumdensity agglomerated panels made with particles of bambusa vulvaris var vitatta, using Portland cement CPV-ARI as a binder. The study will be carried out in three stages. The first stage is focused on the investigation and production of the panels, where the particle size and density of the panels will be defined, so that the combination of these factors results in panels with sufficient mechanical strength for the purpose of non-structural coating for internal use in accordance with the ASTM D-1037:2020 standard. The second stage is dedicated to characterizing the sound absorption coefficients of the panels produced in the previous stage in accordance with the ISO 10534-2 standard. The third and final stage is dedicated to analyzing the results in order to determine the significance of the correlation between the variables adopted in the study.
