QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN CIVIL CONSTRUCTION: Case study of a construction company in Brasília.
Performance; NBR 15.575; Quality Management System.
Civil construction in Brazil has a history of difficulties in its construction processes and compliance with current standards. According to Gonsalez (2017, apud MACIEL; CÂNDIDO; ROCHA, 2019), the construction industry still presents rudimentary characteristics, low innovation and difficulty in modernization. As the construction market is changing dynamically, quality requirements and standards prove to be indispensable to achieve better results, as the imposition of more transparent and specific stages of processes constitute the foundations of said processes. In the course of the demand for quality, regulations were created or adapted to define project guidelines and procedures for new projects. This led to the creation of actions to improve the sector, such as the Brazilian Habitat Quality and Productivity Program (PQBP-H) and the Performance Standard, NBR 15,575 with its latest update in 2021, which addresses Performance Housing. This dissertation research project aims to investigate the issue of the performance of high-rise residential buildings and verify particular aspects of the routine of a building's production process, starting from the initial procedures to post-construction. Based on the legislation in force at the time of this document, such development will be linked to minimum quality standards for users. It is also intended to compare practical procedures that promote the adaptation of this construction typology to the quality guidelines of the Brazilian Habitat Quality and Productivity Program (PBQP-H).
